Itinerant Development Program (IDP)

The aim of Itinerant Development Program is to organize assistance to BAC member associations. The assistance is in form of few selected key aspect of development adopted by Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC) under the 2009 - 2012 Development Action Plan.

The application is on a yearly basis for a maximum duration of 2 weeks per application depending on the program applied for.
Member Associations are required to apply for Itinery Development Programs at least two (2) months before the proposed event date.

Currently, BAC Itinerant Development Program focuses on 4 key aspect of development for its members:

Player Development
Coach Education Program
Events Seminar
Administration Courses

1. Player Development Programs
The scope of player development adopted by BAC currently are
1.1		Under 13 Player Training Camps This program is organized for Talent Identification and to enhance consistency in player production in the regions to form a Junior Talent Team (JTT) in all regions across Asia.
1.2		Under 16 Player Training Camps This program is organized in a "learning to train" concept to expose players and coaches to new training techniques and drills. It is also the platform for selection of 2016 ADT Squad.
1.3		This program is an opportunity for the national team to get assistance from BAC in preparation for major events.

2. Coach Education Program
The scope of Coach Education Program adopted by BAC for Itinerant Development Program (IDP) are:
2.1		BASE Coach Education Program This program is catered for School Teachers, Parents and any individual interested in coaching badminton ideally working with children below 12 years old.
2.2		Coach Education Workshops The Workshops are short extensive and covers specific areas of peak performance in conjunction with tournaments and/or training camps.
